3rd Grade- Ancient Egypt Anthroplogy
4th Grade- Toy Inventors 5th Grade- Roller Coaster Physics Students will be actively engaged in 9 lessons within these units and will complete 1 culminating activity at the end. Ancient Egypt Anthropology- Students will be able to research and uncover fascinating facts about the Ancient Egyptians. Students will explore culture, traditions, inventions, and mysteries that make up the Ancient Egyptian society. These findings will allow students to design an Ancient Egyptian replica artifact that will be on display at the the end of the unit. Toy Inventors- Students will work in cooperative groups to create a company with a name, mission statement, logo, and motto that will design, produce, and sell a toy they have invented. Students will be actively involved in brainstorming ideas, gathering key information, showing prototypes, making group presentations, and then hosting a trade show. Roller Coaster Physics- Students will explore the principles of physics and how it affects our everyday lives. They will research and experiment with the laws of motion related to physics principles. This information will be used as students build and manage the design of a paper roller coaster. Students will work in group pairs to work within a budget to build a working paper roller coaster for display at the end of the unit. Welcome Back to a new school year! ACE classes will begin the week of August 8th. Please make sure you bring your supplies on your ACE day and be sure to label your new items with your name! I look forward to seeing you soon!
